As’in’i’wa’chi Ni’yaw Territory, July 21, 2010-Chief Kwarakwante, traditional chief of the Kelly Lake Cree Nation:

 The Kelly Lake Cree Nation, come from the largest group of Native Americans in Canada, the “As’in’i’wa’chi Ni’yaw Nation”  or the Rocky Mountain Indians, filed an aboriginal rights and title claim against the Province of British Columbia on July 9, 2010. The claim outlines the following:

 KLCN demands Aboriginal Recognition and Reconciliation as a First Nation to the Governments of Canada and British Columbia formally challenging the Crown;

 1. Officially recognize As’in’i’wa’chi Ni’yaw Aboriginal title in the areas the Court  have clearly outlined in other recent B.C. aboriginal land claims cases which have proven title.

 2. Recognize that as a First Nation in British Columbia, the As’in’i’wa’chi Ni’yaw Nation have Aboriginal title and rights throughout their entire territory.

 3. Commit to negotiations to settle the aboriginal rights and title in B.C. as directed by the Courts based on true recognition and reconciliation of Aboriginal title and rights.

 4. Formally advising B.C. that the As’in’i’wa’chi Ni’yaw Nation are an autonomous Nation exercising our sovereign authority and inherent jurisdiction over the management of the      resources within our Aboriginal title lands. We are the real people, the Deneza of this territory, we carry sovereign control just as our Cree and Beaver ancestors did prior to the signing of Treaty 8, prior to British North America’s Treaty 1846 virtual, and since before written memory.

 5. We are First Nations people who were never inhibited by the Indian Act, we have always been a self-governing people, we have never given up or aboriginal rights and title to our lands under any legal means.
